frozen gazes

Welcome to curated collection of photographs that recreates the essence of Victorian-era photography. These photographs underscore several key themes. Primarily, they aim to revive the Victorian era, not just in style but in spirit. They bring back to life the "Hidden Mothers" technique, a photographic method used during that time. This technique, which involves partially concealing a figure to create an illusion of presence through absence. It highlights how the act of hiding paradoxically makes one more visible. Moreover, these photographes also reflect the stern expressions and piercing gazes that were characteristic of long-exposure photography in the Victorian period.
